Kait Yates is a fourth-year MFA student in fiction at the University of Arkansas. While the previous director of Writers in the Schools, she is also managing editor of the Arkansas International and co-founder and editor of mutiny! Literary Magazine. In the spring of 2019, she received both the Lily Peter Fellowship and the James T Whitehead Award for Fiction. Kait is currently at work on a collection of speculative short stories focusing on trauma manifesting as inexplicable environmental disasters, and a novel.
