Sophie Trist is a first-year MFA candidate studying fiction at the University of Arkansas. She hails from the swamps of southeastern Louisiana, where she got her B.A. in English writing with a certificate in editing and publishing from Loyola University New Orleans. She worked as a writing tutor, served as a fiction reader for The New Orleans Review, and her work appears in Spread Second Stories, Voyage, and Life Matters Journal. Sophie is totally blind from birth, and many of her stories and essays unpack the joys and tribulations of living as a disabled person.
