An ode to the joy of walking
You block out the terrors of the world like a knight shielding his princess from
his enemies
You can be alone w/ yourself like the first man on the moon

Anxiety/fear
My lungs are an earthquake. My eyes are smoke machines. My
body is a block of ice. My mind is a burning picture. My face
is an endless canvas. My arms are clenching snakes around my
chest. I can’t move. I can’t breathe.
Mattie Finley
Untitled
The breeze in summer is like a gentle fire right in front of me
like a gust of relief when you’re done with an exam
like an ice cube trying to extinguish a fire
as smooth as the perfect skipping stone
refreshing but never enough
