Megan Blankenship

Megan Blankenship grew up in Calico Rock, Arkansas and got her bachelor’s in English at the University of Arkansas. She taught composition and creative writing and worked at the Quality Writing Center as a writing tutor. She was a 2014-2015 recipient of the Walton Family Fellowship in Poetry and the James T. Whitehead Award in Fiction. She has also received fellowships to attend the Bread Loaf Orion Environmental Writers’ Conference and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. Megan taught WITS workshops because she believed that every student has a writer inside him or her. Through WITS, Megan got to meet students from all over her home state, comparing notes on what it’s like growing up in Arkansas.
