Washington County Juvenile Detention Center (Fall Visit)

At first I was the alpha
wolf living in my own world
watching the stars fight

but now I am fishing for my
life back

Letter to Jupiter

A square shaped space
where a group of people
with letters, numbers and shapes
or drawings on their skin
They sit on 4 legs
or wheels, wood or metal
things people with clear skin go in to
meet the people without clear skin
The space is not quiet
or open

Letter to Mars

Like a bird
whose wings never flap.
The bird holds people inside
keeping them hostage.
Then releases them
far from where they began.

Jungle Gym Fun

At first I was a wittle bitty elephant, jelly-
fishing through a field of sea cows.

But now I am a clown with the body of a
spider running after old ladies.
